First struck in 1986 under the Liberty Coin Act of 1985, the ASE is the U.S. Mint's silver flagship. Annual mintages routinely exceed 30 million coins β the highest of any silver bullion coin ever produced. The reverse was redesigned in 2021 (Type 2) for the coin's 35th anniversary.
