Information We Collect

When you create an account we collect your name, your email address and your password. Google Firebase stores the password only in a protected, non-readable form. We also record the approximate city and country of the network you sign up from, looked up once from your IP address by ipapi.co, and, if you arrived through one of our links or posts, which one. When you use Stakr we store the portfolio data you enter (metal, weight, purity, quantity, purchase and sale amounts and dates, and notes), your price alerts, goals, achievements, display currency and reminder settings, and simple usage counts (when you last opened the app and how many times). If you turn them on, we also store push-notification tokens for your devices (with each device's browser and operating-system details) and a home-screen widget token. We do not collect payment information or government identification.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to provide the Stakr portfolio tracking service. We use your email to authenticate your account and send account-related communications (verification emails, password resets). Your portfolio data is used to display your holdings, calculate values, and generate reports within the app.

We email you for account messages (verification and password reset), for the price alerts and goals you set up, and occasionally with Stakr service announcements.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase infrastructure, which provides encryption at rest and in transit. Access to your portfolio data is restricted to your signed-in account and to the Stakr staff who run the service. We do not sell or rent your personal information or portfolio data. We share it only with the service providers listed below, and only so they can run Stakr for us.

Third-Party Services

Stakr uses Google Firebase and Google Cloud (sign-in, database, server functions, push notifications and server logs), Google reCAPTCHA (bot protection at sign-up), Resend (sends our alert, goal and announcement emails) and ipapi.co (approximate location at sign-up). To show live prices, fonts and the app itself, your browser also connects to our price data provider, Google Fonts and Cloudflare's code library service, and, when you open Market News, to the news sites whose article images are shown; like any website request, these see your IP address. Each provider has its own privacy policy.

Deleting Your Account

You can export your portfolio data at any time with Export Portfolio Data in Account settings. You can delete your account at any time from Account settings, and we'll ask for your password to confirm. Deleting your account removes your sign-in and all of your Stakr data (profile, holdings, sale records, price alerts, goals, achievements, push-notification tokens and widget token) from our live systems right away; if anything interrupts the process, it finishes automatically within 24 hours.

A few copies remain for a limited time in places we can't edit one person at a time: encrypted database backups (daily backups are kept for 98 days, and a recovery copy for 7 days), server logs that can include your email address or account ID (deleted after 30 days), and our email provider's delivery records. Our database also keeps a short record of the deletion itself (your account ID, how and when the deletion was requested, and its progress; no email address or portfolio data) for 30 days after it finishes, and, for any service announcement we emailed you, a one-way code made from your email address and that announcement, which stops it being sent twice and is deleted 30 days after sending. For older accounts, the sign-up notification email our team received (with your name, email address, approximate location and account ID) also stays in our mailbox. We never use these copies to bring back a deleted account, and if we ever restore a backup we remove deleted accounts from it before using it. Emails we already sent you stay in your inbox.

Accounts whose email address is never verified are deleted automatically 30 days after sign-up. If you can't sign in, email admin@stakrwealth.com from your account's email address and we'll delete your account for you. Deleted accounts cannot be restored.
